Gunslinger Wine Dinner
James Suckling writes about attending a "Gunslinger" Wine Dinner at Campanile restaurant. The idea of a gunslinger wine dinner is that each person bring a bottle to share. All the wines would be served blind. The person who brought the worst wine to the dinner had to pay for everyone. The guy who lost had brought a Château Pétrus 1989 -- sells for about $1300 at auction. Holy Crap. If I ever get invited to one, I'm bringing a 2003 Loring Cargasacchi Pinot Noir. No way in hell that wine would lose in a blind tasting.
